All of us at Vivant Senior Living would like to welcome The Grove at Trelago to the neighborhood. Their brand-new facility is a five-minute drive from our Vivant at Versailles memory care home, and it looks like it will be first-class when it opens.

The Grove at Trelago is a three-story, 120-bed community offering independent living, assisted living, and memory care services. Their touted amenities include a movie theatre, resort-style pool, a putting green, and a dog park.

What's the story behind the community's name?

Orlando Sentinel's article states the Trelago property "had been an old citrus grove farm that had been with the same family for generations." The fact helps explain the origin of the new assisted living facility's name, The Grove at Trelago.

When did construction start?

A GrowthSpotter article said that Jacksonville-based Vestcor Companies purchased approximately six acres of land to develop the upscale senior living community. The purchase happened in early 2019, with the price coming in around $3.25 million. After reviewing a Notice of Commencement filed in Orange County, GrowthSpotter determined the construction teams broke ground in March 2020.

Key people and investors

We want to congratulate Gus Astorga, Starling Senior Living, The Vestcor Companies, PQH Group, The Douglas Company, and everyone else, the success of the soon-coming opening. According to an Orlando Sentinel report, the "Battaglia Group is the master-planner behind the mixed-use project" where the Grove at Trelago was built. The Battaglia Group's main office is in Winter Park. Their specialty is investing and managing commercial properties, including Winter Park, Orlando, and St. Cloud portfolio properties.
