Bridgeport Senior Living has six memory care homes across Orange County, Florida. Their model of delivering high-quality memory care across a portfolio of smaller facilities was one of the proofs of concept for starting Vivant Senior Living. If our homes are full, we don't hesitate to refer them to Bridgeport Senior Living.
Community amenities
Bridgeport's website says each memory care home includes "four private and one semi-private room in a home specifically for residents with memory care needs." The Medical Director for their homes is Kelly Higgins, ARNP, a nurse practitioner specializing in the elderly with dementia. Other amenities include an activities program designed by Team Elliot Education and pet therapy by Be an Angel Therapy Dogs Ministry. Kelly Higgins is also one of Vivant Senior Living's medical directors, and Team Elliot Education directs our activities program.
What's the story behind the community's name?
"Bridgeport is the most populous city and a major port in the U.S. state of Connecticut," according to Wikipedia.
Each of Bridgeport's memory care homes has a port name. E.g., Port Phillips, Port Isle, Port Springs, Port Cardiff, Port Margate, and Port Maitland. These homes are located in Orlando, Belle Isle, three in Altamonte Springs, and Maitland.
"A port is a maritime facility comprising one or more wharves or loading areas, where ships load and discharge cargo and passengers. Although usually situated on a sea coast or estuary, ports can also be found far inland... these access the sea via rivers or canals. Because of their roles as ports of entry for immigrants as well as soldiers in wartime, many port cities have experienced dramatic multi-ethnic and multicultural changes throughout their respective histories," according to Wikipedia.

Port Phillips received an ALF license in November 2012. It is located at 8341 Lake Crowell Circle, Orlando, FL 32836.
Port Isle received an ALF license in May 2013. It is located at 3619 Rothbury Drive, Belle Isle, FL 32812.
Port Springs received an ALF license in February 2014. It is located at 404 Spring Valley Road, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714.
Port Cardiff received an ALF license in October 2014. It is located at 125 N Spring Lake Drive, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714.
Port Margate received an ALF license in September 2015. It is located at 906 Spring Valley Road, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714.
Port Maitland received an ALF license in May 2016. It is located at 955 Stonewood Lane, Maitland, FL 32751.
Key people and investors
Kevin Galbasini is the founder and managing partner for Bridgeport. Dana Weaver is the "Family Concierge" across the homes assisting families who want to move in. Ashley Lemire and Dana are both listed as administrators on AHCA's website.
