We Want to Welcome Watercrest Senior Living to Winter Park

Vivant Senior Living wants to welcome Watercrest Senior Living to Winter Park heartily. Their brand-new Watercrest Winter Park facility is located seven minutes down the road from our Vivant at Versailles memory care home, and it looks great.

Community amenities

Watercrest Winter Park includes 75 assisted living and 32 memory care apartments. Some amenities include an “outdoor” streetscape, pool, fireplace, water wall, children’s play space, and multiple dining venues.

What’s the story behind the community’s name?

We don't know the origin of their name, but they do have a crest-like plume or emblem above the "W" in their logo.  According to How Stuff Works, "People sometimes refer to a family crest by other names, such as a shield of arms or coat of arms. The terms "family crest" and "coat of arms" have become interchangeable, but they started out with tangible differences, as we'll see later. You may also run across the term heraldry. This term originates from a European custom dating back to the Middle Ages. Heralds, or announcers, would introduce knights at competitions, and spectators could distinguish each knight by the design adorning his shield, helmet and armor. This design was his crest."

When did construction start?

According to the Orlando Business Journal, construction started in June 2018. In September 2019, Watercrest Senior Living and Titan Development Real Estate Fund I announced that construction was more than 80% complete. They opened the new facility in 2020.
