Sutton Homes (Now Sanctuary by Strive)

Article headline

Gail and Jim Baxter started Sutton Homes, now known as Sanctuary by Strive, in 1994. At the time, they were one of the first Alzheimer’s and dementia care providers in the Central Florida area. They wanted to provide a memory care option that felt like living at home instead of a large assisted living facility with “long hallways, big buildings, large dining rooms, and multiple staff.”

In 2020, Gail decided to sell Sutton Homes to Strive Senior Living. Strive was founded by Trey Vick and Carrie Vick and their investment group. The group also owns and operates Strive at Fern Park, Classic Home Health Services, and Sanctuary by Strive.

Community amenities

Each Sanctuary by Strive home provides home-cooked meals, Florida rooms, or open patios for relaxing, secured entrances, and all of the usual assistance with daily activities.

What’s the story behind the community’s name?

Strive’s Sanctuary by Strive tagline is “turning a home into a Sanctuary.” Each location is a residential home located in a residential neighborhood. It’s a great name that captures the goal of every six-bed operator!
