What’s the story behind the community’s name?

“In music, a serenade is a musical composition or performance delivered in honor of someone or something. Serenades are typically calm, light pieces of music,” according to Wikipedia.

For anyone who works in memory care, I cannot think of a better name than one that brings thoughts of calm, light pieces of music. We all know how healing and transforming music can be in memory care in addition to babies, young kids, and friendly pets.

When did construction start?

The Longwood facility held its grand opening in October 2011. The AHCA website has Sonata listed as the owner/licensee since August 2011. They officially broke ground on the construction on January 27, 2011.
